KYC Fraud and Financial Literacy Programme Held at SMS College, Brahmavar
Brahmavar, June 12, 2026:
The IQAC of SMS College, Brahmavar, in association with Mother Swayam Seva Grameena Abhivrudhhi Samsthe (R.), Rona, organized a KYC Fraud and Financial Literacy Programme on June 12, 2026, for first-year B.Com students. The programme was funded under the Financial Inclusion Fund and conducted under the aegis of the Depositors’ Education and Awareness Fund of the Reserve Bank of India.
The session aimed to create awareness among students about KYC-related frauds, digital banking risks, and the importance of financial literacy.
The resource person, Mr. Harish G, Lead District Divisional Manager of Canara Bank, delivered an informative session on various types of online financial frauds, phishing scams, and precautionary measures. He stressed that OTPs, PIN numbers, and confidential banking details should never be shared with anyone.
Principal Dr.Robert Rodrigues J,Mr. Varshith and Ms. Vani were also present on the dais, adding dignity to the programme. Their presence encouraged the students and highlighted the importance of financial awareness initiatives in educational institutions.
The programme witnessed active participation from the students, who interacted with the resource person and clarified their doubts. The event successfully enhanced awareness about safe banking practices and responsible financial behavior among the young learners.
