Mangalore University-Level Inter-Collegiate Singing Competition – 2026
Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, organised the Mangalore University-Level Inter-Collegiate Singing Competition – 2026 under the aegis of the IQAC and Fine Arts Club on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, at the Rev. Fr. P. G. Koshy Memorial Auditorium.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr. M. C. Mathai, Correspondent, S.M.S. College, Brahmavar. Mrs. Vasanthi Shetty, poetess and proud alumna BA first batch inaugurated the programme. Mr. Alvaris D’Silva, Secretary, College Section, and Dr. Robert Rodrigues J., Principal, S.M.S. College, Brahmavar, were the guests of honour.
Mrs. Vasanthi Shetty addressed the participants by sharing her own life experiences, inspiring them to recognise their talents, believe in themselves and pursue their passions with dedication and confidence. Her words motivated the young singers to make the best use of the opportunities provided to them and continue striving for excellence.
Mrs. Jayashree delivered the welcome address, while Mrs. Rakshitha Kulal proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Ambika served as the master of ceremony for the inaugural programme.
The competition provided a platform for talented students from various colleges to showcase their musical abilities, creativity and passion for singing. It celebrated the rich musical traditions and artistic talents of young performers through inter-collegiate participation.
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Dr. Robert Rodrigues J., Principal, S.M.S. College, Brahmavar. Mr. Jayaram Shettigar, music artist from Sangama, Manipal, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Mr. Raghavendra Aithal was the guest of honour.
Ms. Dhanya delivered the welcome address, and Mr. Prashanth Devadiga announced the list of prize winners. Ms. Lakshitha proposed the vote of thanks, while Mrs. Supreetha served as the master of ceremony for the valedictory programmeThe event concluded on a joyful note, celebrating the spirit of music, healthy competition and cultural excellence.
