SMS College Organizes Anti-Drug Awareness Programme
SMS College, Brahmavar, hosted an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme on August 20, 2024. The event was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college as part of the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan," an initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
The programme, held at the SMS College Main Auditorium, commenced at 10:30 AM. The keynote speaker, Mr. Madhu B E, Sub Inspector at the Brahmavar Police Station, emphasized the detrimental effects of drug abuse and the importance of making communities drug-free.
The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries, including Principal Dr. Robert Rodriguez, OSCES President Rev. Fr. M.C. Mathai, and College Section Secretary Alvaris D'Silva. Teaching and non-teaching staff, along with a large number of students, also attended the programme, showing their support for the cause.
The programme aimed to raise awareness among students and the public regarding the dangers of drug use and the importance of a drug-free society. It received positive responses from participants, contributing to the nationwide campaign against substance abuse.
This awareness programme is one of the many initiatives that SMS College undertakes to promote social responsibility and healthy living among its students and the broader community.
