Sep 18, 2024
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of SMS College, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an Orientation Programme on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024. The event, aimed at guiding new NSS volunteers, was held at the college’s Mini-auditorium, at 10:30 AM.
The resource person for the event was Mr. Prashanth Shetty, Assistant Professor in the Department of History & Archaeology. He provided valuable insights into the role of the NSS in nation-building and highlighted the importance of community service and leadership among students.
NSS Officer Mr. Prasanna Shetty and Mr. Prakash, along with NSS Assistant Officers Ms. Kavitha, Ms. Keerthana, and Ms. Sandhya were present in the Program. Principal Dr. Robert Rodrigues also graced the occasion, delivering an inspiring address to the NSS volunteers.
A large number of NSS volunteers attended the event, eager to begin their journey of service and development under the guidance of their officers and faculty.
The orientation served as a great starting point for the volunteers to understand the core objectives of the NSS and how they can actively contribute to society through their participation in various activities planned for the academic year.
