 Empowering Gender Sensitization: Collaborative Efforts at S.M.S College, Brahmavar


The joint effort by the Cell for Prevention of Harassment of Women and the Anti-Ragging Cell brought together a significant discourse on "Gender Sensitization". Led by Mrs. Savitha Yermal, a revered lecturer from the Government PU College in Brahmavar, the session served as a catalyst for raising awareness on pertinent gender equality issues, using real-life examples to engage the attending audience.



In attendance were members of the Women's Forum and NSS, highlighting the diverse participation and support for such crucial initiatives. Mrs. Vanita Shetty, the Convenor of the cell, warmly introduced Mrs. Savitha Yermal, emphasizing the importance of her expertise and contribution to the event. Dr. Manjunath Udupa, the esteemed Principal of SMS College, graced the gathering and delivered  remarks, further underscoring the significance of the session,Mrs.Jyothi, members of Nss, Women's forum , students witnessed the session.

The program succeeded in fostering a dynamic dialogue around gender equality and sensitization, offering a platform for meaningful discussion and reflection. The engaging nature of Mrs. Savitha Yermal's presentation, coupled with the collaborative spirit of the participating groups, contributed to an enriching and enlightening session.

The Rovers and Rangers of SMS College, Brahmavar, undertook a commendable initiative on Flag Day and Founders Day by organizing a cleanup drive at the bus stop and its surroundings. The primary objective was to raise awareness about the responsible use of plastic on November 11, 2023. 




The program witnessed the participation of Principal Dr. Manjunatha Udupa, College Secretary Mr. Alvaris D'Silva, Treasurer Mr. Joyson Rodrigues, along with leaders RL Sumalata and RSL Damodar Shettigar from the Ranger and Rover groups. Their active involvement underscores the significance of such community efforts.

Saint Mary's Syrian College Brahamavar: In a vibrant celebration of athleticism and tradition, our college's Physical Education Department organized an exhilarating Rural Games event on 11 September 2023. From the gripping intensity of tug of war to the whimsical charm of the musical chair, students engaged in a variety of competitions, including the one leg race, areca leaf race, and sack race.


 The games not only showcased outstanding physical prowess but also fostered a sense of unity and cultural appreciation among the enthusiastic participants. The event exemplified the perfect blend of fitness, fun, and heritage within our college community.
