 Student of SMS College Secures 10th Rank in Mangalore University Examination

Brahmavar: A student of SMS College Brahmavar has brought laurels to the institution by securing a 10th Rank in the B.A. programme in the 2024–25 undergraduate examinations conducted by Mangalore University.

Ms. Fathima Shalula A. H., a student of the college, achieved this distinction through her outstanding academic performance. She is the daughter of Mr. Abdul Hakeem and Mrs. Shahanaz and is a resident of Tekkatte.

Her achievement has brought pride and recognition to the college community. The Management, Principal, faculty members, alumni, PTA, and students of SMS College Brahmavar have extended their heartfelt congratulations to her for this remarkable accomplishment and wished her continued success in her future academic and professional endeavors.

The college authorities expressed happiness over the achievement and noted that such successes reflect the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and quality education. They also stated that the accomplishment would serve as an inspiration for other students to strive for higher academic goals.

Bizhustle 2.0

 On the occasion of the 46th Annual Sports Day ,the Department of Commerce , Commerce Association organised Bizhustle 2.0 – Turn Ideas into Income on 26/2/2026 , Wednesday.The program was a wonderful initiative for the B.Com students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills by setting up stalls and managing their own business activities. It was truly inspiring to witness the students’ creativity, teamwork, and business spirit in action. Their dedication and innovative ideas made the event meaningful and memorable.

Students from all the streams, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, the staff of the sister institution , invitees and well wishers visited the stalls and supported the students by purchasing items.

Career Guidance Programme for students

 The HRD Cell of Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, organized a Career Guidance Programme for students on 23 February 2026 at the college auditorium.

The programme was designed to equip students with essential knowledge and direction regarding higher education and career opportunities. The session featured Mr. Vinaya Krishna and Mr. Ravi Kudtarkar as the resource persons. They delivered insightful presentations on diverse higher education prospects, preparation strategies for competitive examinations, employability skills required in the current job market, and emerging career trends across various sectors. Their interactive sessions encouraged students to explore their interests and prepare strategically for future challenges.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Robert Rodrigues, Principal of the College, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of informed career planning and skill development. Mr. Ashwin Shetty, IQAC Coordinator, along with Mrs. Asha T. K. and Mrs. Prathima, Convenors of the HRD Cell, were also present on the dais. Teaching and non-teaching staff members and a large number of students attended the programme, making it a meaningful and enriching experience for all.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons and the management for their continuous support in organizing such beneficial initiatives for students’ academic and professional growth.

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ: ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಎಸ್‌ಎಂಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರದಲ್ಲಿ 49 ಕಿಲೋವಾಟ್ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದ ಸೌರ ಆನ್-ಗ್ರಿಡ್ ಪವರ್ ಪ್ಲಾಂಟ್ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ಒಟ್ಟು ರೂ.16 ಲಕ್ಷ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಜನೆ ಜಾರಿಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಕೆನರಾ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಿಆರ್‌ಎಸ್ ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ರೂ.10 ಲಕ್ಷ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಿಂದ ರೂ.6 ಲಕ್ಷ ಅನುದಾನ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ರೆವ್. ಫಾ. ಎಂ.ಸಿ. ಮಥಾಯಿ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕೆನರಾ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನ ಜನರಲ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ವಲಯ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಚ್.ಕೆ. ಗಂಗಾಧರ್ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು.ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಹಳೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆನರಾ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಚೇರಿ, ಮಣಿಪಾಲದ ಜನರಲ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಿ. ಸುಧಾಕರ್ ಕೋಟಾರಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕ ಸಂದೇಶ ನೀಡಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ದಿನಗಳ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಕು. ಚಂದನ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿ,ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಘ್ನೇಶ್ ಪಡಿಯರ್ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ರಾಬರ್ಟ್ ರೋಡ್ರಿಗ್ಸ್ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಶ್ವಿನ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಡಾ. ಭರತ್ ರಾಜ್ ಎಸ್. ನೇಜರ್ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

 FREE CLOUD AWS SESSION

The Department of Computer Applications, in collaboration with the IT Association, organized a workshop on “CLOUD AWS SESSION” for Final Year BCA students on 17 February 2026. The session aimed to introduce students to cloud computing concepts and provide practical exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Akshay K, Director and CEO of Enlivo Global Technology Private Limited. He explained the fundamentals of cloud computing, highlighted the importance of AWS in the IT industry, and discussed career opportunities in cloud technology. The session included a brief demonstration of key AWS services such as SNS and IAM, giving students a basic understanding of cloud deployment and management.

The interactive session helped students gain valuable insights into industry requirements and encouraged them to explore certifications and career opportunities in cloud computing.
