 Two-Day Soft Skills Training Program for Final Year Students 



*Udupi, 17 June 2024* — SMS College, in collaboration with the Ramakrishna Hegde Skill Development Centre (RHSDC), a unit of Konkan Railway under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, successfully conducted a two-day soft skills training program. The event took place from 14th June to 15th June 2024 at the Seminar Hall, RHSDC Center, Udupi Railway Station, Kunjibettu, Udupi.


The training program was specifically designed for final year students, focusing on enhancing essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership. A total of 103 students participated in this initiative, demonstrating a keen interest in developing competencies that are crucial for their professional growth and employability.


The sessions were interactive and practical, providing students with the opportunity to engage in various activities and workshops aimed at improving their interpersonal skills and confidence. Expert trainers from the Ramakrishna Hegde Skill Development Centre facilitated the program, sharing their extensive knowledge and experience.




Students provided positive feedback, noting that the training was insightful and beneficial for their future careers. This initiative underscores the commitment of both SMS College and Konkan Railway to contribute to the holistic development of students, preparing them for the challenges of the professional world.

The Anti-Ragging Cell organized a talk on "Anti-Ragging Awareness and Legal Awareness" on 5 June 2024. Mr. Steven Victor Lewis, advocate and notary, served as the resource person, discussing legal measures against ragging and its consequences.


The event was presided over by Principal Dr. Manjunath Udupa, with Mrs. Chitra Shetty, the cell convenor, delivering the welcome address. Srinidhi from III B.Com A served as the master of ceremonies, and Deeksha from III B.Com B gave the vote of thanks.

The talk was well-received, enhancing students' understanding of the importance of maintaining a ragging-free campus.
