The NCC unit of St. Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, commemorated International Yoga Day with a serene early morning yoga session at Sastana Kodi Beach. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets who demonstrated various yoga asanas, promoting physical and mental well-being.

The programme was held in the dignified presence of the Principal, Dr. Robert Rodrigues J, who emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life for holistic development. Lt. Ashwin Shetty, the NCC Officer, supervised and coordinated the session, ensuring active involvement and discipline among the cadets.

Under the theme "Where Memories Meet Again," the event witnessed a warm reunion of former students who reconnected with old friends, teachers, and cherished college memories.

Brahmavar, June 1: The Department of Physical Education, Mangalore University, in association with St. Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, successfully organized the Mangalore University Inter-Collegiate Lawn Tennis Tournament 2024–25 for men and women on May 31, 2025, at the Ajjarkadu Indoor Stadium, Udupi.

The valedictory function of the prestigious tournament was presided over by Dr. Robert Rodrigues J., Principal of SMS College, Brahmavar.  Esteemed Guests of Honor included Mr. Chandrashekhar Hegde, Retired Physical Education Director of SMS College, Brahmavar, Mr. Rama Bhat, Member of the SMS Tennis Club, and Dr. Ramachandra Patkar, Observer from Mangalore University,Mr. Venkatesh Bhat, Physical Education Director.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 20 students, who went through a direct face to face interview.10 students were selected to join, marking a significant milestone in their academic and professional journey.

The Department of Commerce, under the Commerce Association, successfully organized Commerce Fest on 17th March 2025 and Commerce Day on 19th March 2025. The events were held to encourage academic excellence, practical exposure, and student engagement in the field of commerce.

The Commerce Fest featured a wide range of competitions and interactive sessions aimed at enhancing students' skills and creativity. Activities such as Business Quiz, Collage Competition, model making , ice breaker and glimpses witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all B.com classes .

Commerce Day, celebrated on 19th March, was filled with games and entertainment programs that brought energy and joy to the campus. Students participated enthusiastically in various recreational activities, making the day both memorable and fun-filled.

The two-day celebration not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents but also fostered teamwork, leadership, and innovation.

Brahmavar, April 17: The much-anticipated Mangalore University level inter-collegiate men's cricket tournament was successfully hosted by SMS College, Brahmavar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from top colleges across the university, showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

In a thrilling finale, Alva’s College, Moodbidri emerged as the champions, displaying outstanding performance and teamwork. BB Hegde College secured the runners-up position after a closely contested match.

The host institution, SMS College, Brahmavar, put up a commendable performance to finish in third place, followed by Bhandarkars’ College, Kundapura, securing the fourth position.

The tournament was a grand success, marked by competitive spirit, discipline, and excellent cricketing standards. The event not only promoted sportsmanship but also strengthened the camaraderie among participating institutions.

On 7th April 2025, HRD And Placement Cell of Saint Mary's Syrian College, Brahmavara, hosted an insightful Programme on "Boarding your Future In Aviation"  . The Programme was  witnessed by the resource person Mrs. Anitha Fernandes   who provided valuable information to the students on various aspects of Aviation and Hospitality .  

The session was well-received and emphasizing the students pursuing careers in aviation management, covering career opportunities in   the industry.   Mrs. Tweeny Maria Rodrigues convenor of Placement CELL, Mrs. Vanita shetty   were present in the Programme.
