Workshop on the Conservation of Medicinal Plants 

On the 15th of September 2023,  Workshop on the Conservation of Medicinal Plants took place in the SMSCollege Brahmavara.Workshop was organized by the Eco Club in collaboration with the NSS, NCC, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Brahmavar. Scientists from the horticulture department,  Dr. Raviraj Shetty, graced the occasion as the resource person.

Dr.Raviraj Shetty provided valuable insights into the various medicinal plants present in our environment. He also emphasized the crucial role that students can play in conserving these endangered medicinal plants. The workshop concluded with the inauguration of a Medicinal Flora initiative. In this endeavor, approximately 30 different varieties of medicinal plants were planted in the college environment.

 ಔಷಧೀಯ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಅರಿವು  ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರ

ಎಸ್ ಎಮ್ ಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರದ ಇಕೋ ಕ್ಲಬ್, ಎನ್.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಎನ್.ಸಿ.ಸಿ  ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಔಷಧೀಯ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಅರಿವು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವು ದಿನಾಂಕ 15.09.2023 ರಂದು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಕಿರು ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾರವ ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ರವಿರಾಜ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು     ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಔಷಧೀಯ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತ ಅಳಿವಿನ ಅಂಚಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಔಷಧೀಯ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರದ ಕುರಿತು ಬೆಳಕು ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದರು, ನಂತರ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 30 ವಿಧದ ಔಷಧೀಯ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟು ಔಷಧೀಯ ಸಸ್ಯವನವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲಾಯಿತು

 ಈ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಉಡುಪರವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಎನ್.ಸಿ.ಸಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಅಶ್ವಿನ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಎ ಹಾಗೂ ಎನ್.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್ ಯೋಜನಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮಮತಾ ಮೇರಿ ಅಮನ್ನಾರವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಎನ್ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್. ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರಾದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ,ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿ, ಶ್ರೀನಿಧಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರತೀಕ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
