Two Faculty Members of SMS College Brahmavar Awarded Ph.D., Bringing Pride to Institution
Brahmavar, April 2026: In a moment of great pride and academic distinction, SMS College Brahmavar has celebrated the remarkable achievement of two of its faculty members who have been awarded the prestigious Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in their respective disciplines.
Dr. Prashanth Shetty of the Department of History, Ancient History, and Archaeology has been conferred a Ph.D. for his research on “A Study on the Prehistorical and Protohistorical Cultures of Coastal Karnataka with Special Reference to Udupi and Dakshina Kannada District.” His scholarly work provides valuable contributions to the understanding of early cultural developments in coastal Karnataka.
Simultaneously, Dr. Bharathraj S. Nejar, Head of the Department of Economics, has earned his Ph.D. from Kuvempu University for his research titled “Role of Roads in Rural Development – A Study in Udupi District.” His study highlights the significance of infrastructure, particularly rural roads, in fostering economic growth and development.
The twin achievement of both faculty members marks a significant milestone for the institution, reflecting its strong commitment to research excellence and higher education.
