"Project Development": ಕಾರ್ಯಗಾರ

 

ದಿನಾಂಕ 09/08/2025 ರಂದು  ಎಸ್.ಎಂ.ಎಸ್  ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರದ ಗಣಕ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗ ಹಾಗೂ IT Association ವತಿಯಿಂದ "Project Development" ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಾರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ.ರಾಬರ್ಟ್ ರೊಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ಜೆ. ಇವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅತಿಥಿ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೋ. ಪ್ರಣಮ್ ಬಿ, ಡಾ. ಬಿ. ಬಿ. ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಕುಂದಾಪುರ, ಇವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ "ಪ್ರೊಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ಡೆವಲಪ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಆರ್ಟಿಫಿಷಿಯಲ್ ಇಂಟೆಲಿಜೆನ್ಸ್" ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು. ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಯುತ.ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್, IT Association Convenor ಆಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ.ರೇಷ್ಮಾ ಹಾಗೂ Intitution's innovation council convenor ಶ್ರೀಯುತ.ಪ್ರಥ್ವಿ ಇವರು ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

 Workshop on Personal Grooming and Interview Skills Held for Final Year B.Com Students

August 9 — The IQAC, Department of Commerce, Placement and HRD Cell, in association with JCI, organized a one-day workshop on Personal Grooming and Interview Skills for the final year B.Com students today.

The program began with a warm welcome by Mrs. Asha T.K., HRD Convenor, followed by an address from Principal Robert Rodrigues, who emphasized the importance of professional etiquette and communication skills in career advancement.

The session was led by Ms. Melba Deena Lewis, Vice President of JCI, who served as the resource person. She provided valuable insights into effective self-presentation, confidence-building, and strategies to excel in interviews.

Ms. Evita D’Souza, President of JCI Kalliyanpura, and Ms. Ennica D’Souza, Member of JCI Kalliyanpura, were also present,  extending their support to the smooth conduct of the program.

The Commerce Department staff was also present, lending their support to the event.


The workshop was designed to equip students with practical skills to enhance their employability and prepare them for professional opportunities. Participants expressed appreciation for the interactive and informative nature of the session.

MOU :German language


MOU :German languageSt. Mary's Syrian College, in collaboration with Ajimorah Institutions, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 6th July 2025. The event was presided over by Rev. Fr. M.C. Mathai. Also gracing the occasion were Dr.Robert Rodrigues J., Principal and Mr Alvaris D'Silva , Secretary, OSCE Society, College Section.

 The Resource persons present included Ms. Sandra Jacob, Regional Manager; Mr. Mohammad Shafi, Head of the Study Abroad Department; and Mr. Susheel Kumar K.R., Marketing Manager, Byndoor. 

The guests shared valuable insights on learning the German language and highlighted its significance and advantages for future academic and career opportunities.

Aagaman

 `Aagaman’ – Orientation Programme for First Year B.Com, B.A & B.C.A Students*

S.M.S College, Brahmavar, organized orientation programme, ‘Aagaman’, on July 28, 2025, to welcome the first-year students of B.Com, B.A, and B.C.A courses. The programme aimed to guide the freshers into their new academic journey and introduce them to the values and culture of the institution.

The highlight of the event was a special talk by Prof. Sakharama Somayaji, Former Professor at NTPC School of Business, Delhi, and President of the Alumni Association of S.M.S College. He delivered an insightful session on the topic "Values in Life", underscoring the significance of discipline, compassion, and integrity in shaping a meaningful life and successful career.

The Principal, Dr. Robert Rodriguez, addressed the gathering with a motivational message that emphasized academic excellence, ethical responsibility, and personal growth. His address inspired students to strive for both knowledge and character.




Mrs. Savitha S. Nayak, Executive Member of the Alumni Association, graced the occasion with her presence and motivated the students with her encouraging words, sharing her own journey and the role the college played in her professional development.The event began with a warm welcome by Vice Principal, Mr. Prasanna Shetty.The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mrs. Vanitha Shetty, Lecturer in Commerce, who appreciated the contributions of all dignitaries, faculty members, and students for making the event a grand success.


The orientation programme left a lasting impression on the new batch, marking a positive and inspiring start to their academic life at S.M.S College.

"Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan"

Oath-Taking Programme under "Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan"

In connection with the nationwide initiative "Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan", an Oath-Taking Programme was held today at 11:30 AM in front of the Principal’s Chamber. The event aimed to create awareness among students and staff about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage a commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.

The programme witnessed the active participation of teaching and non-teaching staff, along with enthusiastic involvement from students across various streams. During the event, all present solemnly took the anti-drug pledge, reaffirming their resolve to stay away from intoxicating substances and to spread awareness in the society.

The initiative reflects the college’s continued commitment to social responsibility and youth empowerment through value-based education.

Competitive Exam Awareness Programme Held at SMS College, Brahmavara

Brahmavara: SMS College, Brahmavara, a prestigious institution managed by the OSC Educational Society and accredited with an 'A' grade by NAAC, organized a Competitive Exam Awareness Programme on June 24th. The event aimed to enlighten students about various Central and State Government job opportunities and the preparation strategies required for competitive examinations.

The programme was organized in association with Naren Academy, Brahmavara, and Rotary Royals, Brahmavara, and served as a platform to guide students on the latest employment trends and examination patterns in the public sector.

Eminent dignitaries graced the event, including Mr. Robert Rodriguez, Principal of SMS College; Mr. Chandrakanth from Naren Academy; Mr. Raghavendra Samaga, Assistant Governor, Zone 3; Mr. Trivikram Adiga, Secretary, Rotary Royals Brahmavara; and Mr. Sakaram Somayaji, President of the Old Students' Association. Each of them addressed the students and highlighted the significance of goal-oriented preparation and determination in achieving success in competitive exams.

The NCC unit of St. Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, commemorated International Yoga Day with a serene early morning yoga session at Sastana Kodi Beach. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets who demonstrated various yoga asanas, promoting physical and mental well-being.


The programme was held in the dignified presence of the Principal, Dr. Robert Rodrigues J, who emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life for holistic development. Lt. Ashwin Shetty, the NCC Officer, supervised and coordinated the session, ensuring active involvement and discipline among the cadets.

Brahmavar, June 14: The NCC Unit of SMS College, Brahmavar, actively participated in a blood donation camp organised by the 21 KAR BN NCC Udupi. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the cadets, who came forward to contribute to this humanitarian cause.

The initiative aimed to promote the spirit of service among youth and address the ongoing need for blood in hospitals and medical emergencies. A significant number of units across Udupi district joined the campaign, with SMS College cadets playing a commendable role through their selfless act.

The Principal of SMS College appreciated the cadets for their social commitment and encouraged them to continue participating in such impactful activities. Brahmavar, May 31: St. Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, buzzed with joy and nostalgia as it hosted the Alumni Summer Get-Together 2025 on its campus from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Under the theme "Where Memories Meet Again," the event witnessed a warm reunion of former students who reconnected with old friends, teachers, and cherished college memories.



The evening was filled with fun, laughter, and celebration. A range of exciting fun games and interactive activities brought a wave of enthusiasm and joy among the participants. Alumni from various batches engaged wholeheartedly, making it a vibrant and memorable gathering.

Brahmavar, June 1: The Department of Physical Education, Mangalore University, in association with St. Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, successfully organized the Mangalore University Inter-Collegiate Lawn Tennis Tournament 2024–25 for men and women on May 31, 2025, at the Ajjarkadu Indoor Stadium, Udupi.

The valedictory function of the prestigious tournament was presided over by Dr. Robert Rodrigues J., Principal of SMS College, Brahmavar.  Esteemed Guests of Honor included Mr. Chandrashekhar Hegde, Retired Physical Education Director of SMS College, Brahmavar, Mr. Rama Bhat, Member of the SMS Tennis Club, and Dr. Ramachandra Patkar, Observer from Mangalore University,Mr. Venkatesh Bhat, Physical Education Director.

The joint effort of the Department of Physical Education and SMS College Brahmavar received wide appreciation for the flawless execution and vibrant conduct of the tournament.
