SMS College Organizes Anti-Drug Awareness Programme

SMS College, Brahmavar,  hosted an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme on August 20, 2024. The event was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college as part of the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan," an initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

The programme, held at the SMS College Main Auditorium, commenced at 10:30 AM. The keynote speaker, Mr. Madhu B E, Sub Inspector at the Brahmavar Police Station, emphasized the detrimental effects of drug abuse and the importance of making communities drug-free.

The event witnessed the presence of  dignitaries, including Principal Dr. Robert Rodriguez, OSCES President Rev. Fr. M.C. Mathai, and College Section Secretary Alvaris D'Silva. Teaching and non-teaching staff, along with a large number of students, also attended the programme, showing their support for the cause.

The programme aimed to raise awareness among students and the public regarding the dangers of drug use and the importance of a drug-free society. It received positive responses from participants, contributing to the nationwide campaign against substance abuse.

This awareness programme is one of the many initiatives that SMS College undertakes to promote social responsibility and healthy living among its students and the broader community.

 Saint Mary's Syrian College, Brahamavar, proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Robert Rodrigues as the new Principal. Dr. Rodrigues, a distinguished academician with a long-standing career in education, brings a wealth of experience and a visionary outlook to the college. He has previously served in various academic leadership roles and is well-known for his commitment to academic excellence and student development.

On the same occasion, the college also welcomed Mr. Prasanna Shetty as the new Vice Principal. 

The college community is enthusiastic about this new leadership and looks forward to the positive changes they will bring to enhance the academic and co-curricular environment at Saint Mary's Syrian College. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ: ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ಪಿತಾಮಹ ಡಾ. ಎಸ್ ಆರ್ ರಂಗನಾಥನ್‌ರವರ ಜನ್ಮದಿನದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಎಸ್.ಎಂ.ಎಸ್. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ  ದಿನಾಂಕ ೧೨-೦೮-೨೦೨೪ ರಂದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ  ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ಉಡುಪರವರು ರಂಗನಾಥನ್‌ರವರ ಛಾಯಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಷ್ಪವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಕಛೇರಿ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸೆಲಿನ್ ಬಾಂಜ್, ಬೋಧಕ, ಬೋಧಕೇತರ ವರ್ಗ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುರೇಖಾ, ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಸಹಾಯಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸತೀಶ ಹಾಗೂ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ  ದರ್ಜೆ ಸಹಾಯಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪ್ರಮೀಳ ಡಿಸಿಲ್ವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಎಸ್ ಎಂ ಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿ -ರೀಚ್ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 23-7-2024 ರಂದು ಸಿ. ಎ, ಸಿ.ಎಸ್ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಕುರಿತ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಕಿರು ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ವಿ- ರಿಚ್ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯ ಶ್ರೀ ನಾಗೇಶ್ ರವರು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ಉಡುಪ ಕೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

On 23rd July 2024, SMS College inaugurated classes for CA and CS courses for the academic year 2024-25. The event featured Mr. Nagesh from V-Reach Academy, Udupi, who provided detailed information about the CA and CS courses. He highlighted the importance of pursuing these courses for a successful career.

The program was presided over by Principal Dr. Manjunath Udupa, who motivated the students to work hard to achieve their goals of becoming professionals by completing the CA or CS courses.
