 "A Path Towards Success - Cracking RRB Competitive Exams"

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the cell for coaching competitive exams and HRD Cell, organised a special talk titled “A Path Towards Success: Cracking RRB Competitive Exams”. The event, aimed at coaching students for competitive exams, featured Mr. Chandrakanth, Co-founder of Naren Academy, and Mr. Vivek Kamath, Co-founder of Dosha Learning Centre, as the resource persons.



The session commenced with a warm welcome from the HOD of Economics, Mr. Bharath Raj S Nejar. Both the resource persons shared valuable insights on effective strategies for preparing and excelling in the RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) competitive exams. Their discussions covered essential topics such as time management, exam patterns, and study techniques, helping students understand the path towards success in these exams.

The Principal Dr.Robert Rodrigues addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of competitive exams in shaping students' careers and how such opportunities prepare them for government job prospects.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the HOD of Commerce Mrs Tweeny Maria Rodrigues. The presence of the staff and the Convener of HRD added further significance to the occasion, ensuring a well-organized and insightful session for students aiming for competitive exams.

The special talk was an enriching experience for the students, providing them with practical guidance and motivation to excel in competitive exams like RRB.

Counselling Centre Inaugurated at Saint Mary's Syrian College, Brahmavar

 The Counselling Centre at Saint Mary's Syrian College, Brahmavar, was inaugurated on 8th October 2024 in collaboration with A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi.

Dr. P.V. Bhandary, Medical Director and Psychiatrist at A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi, was the chief guest and inaugurator. During his speech, Dr. Bhandary emphasized the rising issue of suicide among youths and highlighted the crucial role that counselling centres can play in addressing mental health challenges. He stressed the importance of providing emotional support and guidance to students through such centres to help prevent crises and promote mental well-being.


The event was graced by the presence of guests of honour Prof. K. Narayanan, Retired Principal, SMS College, Brahmavar, Ms. Deepashree, Counsellor, A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi

Mr. Rajaram Shetty, President, Red Cross Unit Brahmavar ,Mr. Sundar Poojary, President, Giants Group, Brahmavar

Mr. Prasanna Shetty, Convener, and Dr. Robert Rodrigues J, Principal of the college, played key roles in organizing the event.


The Counselling Centre will provide mental health support to students, ensuring their emotional well-being and helping them navigate life's challenges.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration  at Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar

On October 2, 2024, staff and students of Saint Mary's Syrian College Brahamavar took the "Swachh and Green India" pledge. This reaffirmed commitment to keeping our surroundings clean and protecting nature, in honor of the legacy of the Father of the Nation.

Cleanliness Drive in Murudeshwar

 The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with a focus on community service and cleanliness. The event featured a "Swachh Bharat" cleanliness drive at Murudeshwar, a popular tourist location in Karnataka.

NSS volunteers, along with faculty members, organized a large-scale cleanliness campaign as part of their commitment to promoting Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a clean and green India. The team cleaned public spaces, including Murudeshwar Railway Station and surrounding areas, gathering and properly disposing of litter. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about cleanliness and environmental preservation.

ಸ್ವಚ್ಚ ಭಾರತ್ ಅಭಿಯಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ  ಎಸ್‌ಎಮ್‌ಎಸ್‌ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರವು   ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತಾ  ಆಂದೋಲನವನ್ನು   ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 30, 2024 ರಂದು  ಆಯೊಜಿಸಿತು .  ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ   IQAC,  ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕೆಡೆಟ್ ಕಾರ್ಪ್ಸ್ (NCC),  ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆ (NSS),ರೋಟರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ, ಲಯನ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಲಿಯೋ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ-ಬಾರಕೂರು, ಹಾಗೂ ಚಾಂತಾರ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್‌ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು

ಈ ಶುಚಿತ್ವ ಆಂದೋಲನವು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9:45 ಕ್ಕೆ  ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಿಂದ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಆಯಿಲ್ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಪಂಪ್, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.

 The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, actively participated in the World Rivers Day celebration near the Mabukala Bridge on the banks of the Sitha River. The event was organized to raise awareness about the significance of rivers and the need for their conservation.

The cadets engaged in a series of activities including a river clean-up drive, distribution of educational materials, and awareness campaigns. These initiatives aimed at educating the local community on the importance of preserving water bodies, particularly the Sitha River, for future generations. 

During the event, the cadets emphasized the critical role that rivers like the Sitha play in maintaining environmental balance and providing essential resources. The participants encouraged everyone to adopt sustainable practices and support ongoing efforts to protect natural water sources.

World Rivers Day is celebrated annually to highlight the global importance of rivers, and this initiative by the NCC cadets of Saint Mary’s Syrian College demonstrated their commitment to environmental preservation and community service.
