Empowering Women, Ensuring Hygiene – Installation of Sanitary Pad Vending Machine and Water Purifiers

The IQAC and Women’s Forum of Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, in association with the Rotary Club, Brahmavar, organized a special programme on 6 November 2025 at 2:00 PM in the college Mini Auditorium. The event marked the handing-over ceremony of Sanitary Pad Vending Machines and Water Purifiers, as a step towards promoting women’s health and hygiene on campus.

The programmue was graced by distinguished guests — Rotarian Satish Shetty, President of Rotary Club Brahmavar; Rotarian Ashok Kumar Shetty; Interact Chairman Jagdish Kemmanu; Trust Treasurer Sundaram Shetty; Henry Lewis; Sujata Andhra Dee; Miss Rubina; and Rexon, Rotary Club Brahmavar.

The event began with a prayer by Chandana C.N. of I B.Com (B), followed by a warm welcome and introductory address by Dr. Vidyalatha, Women’s Forum Convenor. The master of ceremony for the program was Sinchana, Final B.Com (A).

Dr. Robert Rodrigues, Principal, presided over the event and faculty members were also present. The guests appreciated the college’s initiative and Rotary’s contribution towards women’s empowerment and health awareness.The installation of sanitary pad vending machines and water purifiers marks a progressive step towards creating a healthier, cleaner, and more inclusive campus environment.

Chandana C.N., a student of I B.Com at Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, has brought laurels to the institution by securing the Second Place in the Kanakakeerthana Singing Competition. The event was organized by the Govinda Pai Research Centre, M.G.M. College Campus, in collaboration with the Kanakadasa Study and Research Centre, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, on the occasion of Saint Kanakadasa Jayanti.

The Management, Principal, and Faculty of Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, have congratulated Chandana on her remarkable achievement and wished her continued success in her artistic pursuits.

ಎಸ್. ಎಮ್. ಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಐ. ಕ್ಯು. ಎ. ಸಿ ಹಾಗೂ  ಭಾಷಾ ವಿಭಾಗ  ಇವರ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಗಮ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ (ರಿ ) ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ  ಇವರ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ "ಯುವ ಕರಾವಳಿ " ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಕ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಾ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ಎಸ್. ಎಮ್. ಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ  ದಿನಾಂಕ 5-11-2025 ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 2 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ  ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲಾರದ ಡಾ. ರೋಬರ್ಟ್ ರೋಡ್ರಿಗಸ್. ಜೆ  ಯವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅಥಿತಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಎಸ್. ಎಮ್. ಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ  ಡಾ. ವೈ.ರವೀಂದ್ರನಾಥ  ರಾವ್  ಮತ್ತು  ಪೂರ್ಣಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾ ಸಂಧ್ಯಾ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಉಡುಪಿ  ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿಂದಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಡಾ. ಸುಕನ್ಯ ಮೇರಿ. ಜೆ ಯವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.  ಯುವ ಕರಾವಳಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ  ಸಂಪಾದಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹೇಶ ತಡೆಕಲ್ಲು  ಅವರು ಇದ್ದರು. ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಅನಾವರಣವನ್ನು  ಡಾ 

ವೈ ರವೀಂದ್ರನಾಥ್ ರಾವ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಡಾ. ಸುಕನ್ಯಾ ಮೇರಿ. ಜೆ. ಅವರು ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಡಾ. ರಾಬರ್ಟ್ ರೋಡ್ರಿಗಸ್. ಜೆ. ಅವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀ ಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿರುವ  ಡಾ. ವಿದ್ಯಾಲತಾ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು.  ಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಗಮ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿನ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ವೈಶಾಲಿಯವರು ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಸಿಂಚನ ತೃತೀಯ ಬಿಕಾಂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಚಂದನ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಿ ಕಾಂ  ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

National Unity Day Observed at Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar

Brahmavar, October 31, 2025 — The NCC Unit of Saint Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar, observed National Unity Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The programme was presided over by Dr. Robert Rodrigues J, Principal of the college. The Guest Speaker, Mr. Bharathraj S. Nejar, Head of the Department of Economics, delivered an inspiring talk on the life and legacy of Sardar Patel, emphasizing his remarkable role in the integration of India and the enduring values of unity, determination, and service to the nation.

Lt. Ashwin Shetty A, Associate NCC Officer, welcomed the gathering and gave an introductory address, setting the tone for the event. In his presidential remarks, the Principal highlighted the importance of national unity and integrity as the foundation for the country’s progress and stability.

As part of the observance, all NCC cadets took the National Unity Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to upholding the spirit of oneness and patriotism. The event concluded with expressions of gratitude and a renewed sense of collective responsibility towards the nation.

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ, 30/10/2025 – ಎಸ್.ಎಂ.ಎಸ್. ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರದಲ್ಲಿ ಐ.ಕ್ಯೂ.ಎ.ಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ಲಲಿತಾ ಕಲಾ ಸಂಘದ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಅಂತರ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಸಂಗೀತ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ – 2025 ಭವ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿತು.ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ನಟ, ರಂಗ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಬಿ.ಎಸ್. ರಾಮ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ (ಭೂಮಿಕಾ [ರಿ.], ಹಾರಾಡಿ) ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ರೆ|ಫಾ| ಎಂ.ಸಿ. ಮಥಾಯಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಈ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗೆ ತೀರ್ಪುಗಾರರಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಶಾಂತಿ ಕುಕ್ಕುಡೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದುಷಿ ಅನುರಾಧ ಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂಭತ್ತು ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಸಂಗೀತ, ಭಾವಗೀತೆ, ಜಾನಪದ ಗೀತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮೂಹ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ ಗೀತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕಲೆ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದರು.ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಜಯಶ್ರೀ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಕುಮಾರಿ ರೆಹೇನಾ ಬಾನು ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಹುಮಾನ ವಿತರಣಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಶಾಂತಿ ಕುಕ್ಕುಡೆ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದು, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ರಾಬರ್ಟ್ ರೊಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಕುಮಾರಿ ದೀಪ್ತಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ್ ದೇವಾಡಿಗ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕುಮಾರಿ ಚಂದನ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಪ್ರೀತಾ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
