Brahmavar: Laxmi Birappa, a final year B.A. student of SMS College, Brahmavar, made the institution proud by representing the Mangalore Zone as the captain in the KSCA Inter-Moffusil Women's Cricket Tournament (Below 25 Years Category) held at Shivamogga. This marks the first time a student from the college has taken up a leadership role at this prestigious level. Her selection and performance highlight the growing talent and potential among young women cricketers in the region.

Brahmavar, April 17: The much-anticipated Mangalore University level inter-collegiate men's cricket tournament was successfully hosted by SMS College, Brahmavar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from top colleges across the university, showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

In a thrilling finale, Alva’s College, Moodbidri emerged as the champions, displaying outstanding performance and teamwork. BB Hegde College secured the runners-up position after a closely contested match.

The host institution, SMS College, Brahmavar, put up a commendable performance to finish in third place, followed by Bhandarkars’ College, Kundapura, securing the fourth position.

The tournament was a grand success, marked by competitive spirit, discipline, and excellent cricketing standards. The event not only promoted sportsmanship but also strengthened the camaraderie among participating institutions.

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ:ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಎಸ್. ಎಮ್. ಎಸ್. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 11-4-2025 ರಂದು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ವಿನಿಮಯ ಕಚೇರಿ, ರಜತಾದ್ರಿ ಮಣಿಪಾಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ಯಾರಂಟಿ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನ ಸಮಿತಿ ತಾಲೂಕು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ರಾಬರ್ಟ್ ರಾಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ಜೆ. ಅವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವನಿಧಿ ನೋಂದಣಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ವಿನಿಮಯ ಕಚೇರಿ, ರಜಾತಾದ್ರಿ ಮಣಿಪಾಲ ಇವರ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಶ್ರೀ ದೀಕ್ಷಿತ್ ಅವರು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ 'ಯುವನಿಧಿ' ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಉಪಯೋಗಗಳು, ನೋಂದಣಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಹತೆಗಳೇನು ಹಾಗೂ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕುರಿತು, ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ವಿನಿಮಯ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ಗ್ಯಾರಂಟಿ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನ ಸಮಿತಿ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು,ಇದರ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಬುಸಾಹೇಬ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಸಿಗುವ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಗುರಿಸಾಧಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕ ವೃಂದದವರು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುರೇಖಾ ವಂದಿಸಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಕುಮಾರಿ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

On 7th April 2025, HRD And Placement Cell of Saint Mary's Syrian College, Brahmavara, hosted an insightful Programme on "Boarding your Future In Aviation"  . The Programme was  witnessed by the resource person Mrs. Anitha Fernandes   who provided valuable information to the students on various aspects of Aviation and Hospitality .  

The session was well-received and emphasizing the students pursuing careers in aviation management, covering career opportunities in   the industry.   Mrs. Tweeny Maria Rodrigues convenor of Placement CELL, Mrs. Vanita shetty   were present in the Programme.

The Programme was  witnessed by the resource person Dr. P.S Aithal Director at Poorna prajna Group of  Institutions who provided valuable information to the students on various aspects of ICCT Based Communication, emerging technologies including AI , Block chain, cloud computing etc.  The session was well-received and emphasizing that long term sustainability and competitive advantages achieved through  innovation of technological agility.  Mrs. Asha T.K  convenor of HRD CELL, Mr. Vignesh Padiyar and Deepak shetty Professor of Poorna Prjana College Udupi  were present in the Programme.
