In a spectacular display of strength and athleticism, the inter-college Best physique competition, hosted by SMS College Brahmavara in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education  Mangalore University, unfolded on January 7, 2024.

Alvas College Moodubidire secured the first place, followed by SDM College and Aloysius College . The host institution, SMS College, held its ground and secured a respectable fourth place.

A standout performer, Kishan Shetty of Alvas College, was crowned the best bodybuilder of the competition, showcasing exemplary dedication and physical prowess.

The event, held in the college hall of SMS College Brahmavara, not only celebrated the spirit of competition but also highlighted the commitment and hard work of the participating colleges and individual athletes. Congratulations to all participants for making the inter-college bodybuilding competition a resounding success.

ಎಸ್ ಎಮ್. ಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತರ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮಟ್ಟದ ದೇಹದಾಢ್ಯ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯು ದಿನಾಂಕ 07.012024 ರಂದು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಬಿ.ವಿ.ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಜರುಗಿದ ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ.ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಉಡುಪರವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕೆ.ಎಫ್.ಎ. ಸರ್ಟಿಫೈಡ್ ಫಿಟ್‌ನೆಸ್ ತರಬೇತುದಾರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ನಿತ್ಯಾನಂದ ಕೋಟ್ಯಾನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ತಾಲೂಕು ಅತ್ಲೆಟಿಕ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಭರತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು  ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಉಪನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಡಾ.ಹರಿದಾಸ್ ಕೂಳೂರು, ಓ.ಎಸ್.ಸಿ ಎಜ್ಯುಕೇಷನಲ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯ ಕಾಲೇಜು ವಿಭಾಗದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಲ್ವರಿಸ್ ಡಿಸಿಲ್ವ, ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಲ್ಬರ್ಟ್ ರೋನಿ ಡಿಸಿಲ್ವ, ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಕಬಡ್ಡಿ ರೆಫ್ರಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರೇಮನಾಥ್ ಉಳ್ಳಾಲ, ಹಳೆವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ರೊ.ಅಲ್ವಿನ್ ಅಂದ್ರಾದೆ, ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ ಭಟ್ ಇವರು ಗೌರವ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು.  ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಭರತ್ ರಾಜ್ ನೇಜಾರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಘ್ನೇಶ್ ಪಡಿಯಾರ್  ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಅರುಣ್ ರಾಜ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ ಭಟ್  ರವರು ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

ವಿವಿಧ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳ ಸುಮಾರು 50ಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಅಧಿಕ ದೇಹದಾಢ್ಯ ಪಟುಗಳು ಈ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲರಾಗಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯ 4  ನೇ  ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಆತಿಥೇಯ ಎಸ್ ಎಂ ಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ , 3 ನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಸೈಂಟ್ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮಂಗಳೂರು , ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಎಸ್ ಡಿ ಎಂ ಬ್ಯುಸಿನೆಸ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಆಳ್ವಾಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮೂಡಬಿದ್ರಿ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡವು . Mr. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಯೂನಿವರ್ಸಿಟಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಳ್ವಾಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮೂಡಬಿದಿರೆಯ  ಕಿಶನ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ದೇಹದಾಢ್ಯ ಪಟುವಾಗಿ  ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿದರು .

ಕಿನ್ನಿಗೋಳಿ ಫ್ರೆಂಡ್ಸ್ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟರ್ಸ್, ಇವರ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗಾಗಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 23 ಹಾಗೂ 24 ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ ರಂದು ನಡೆದ KFC ಪ್ರೀಮಿಯರ್ ಲೀಗ್  ಟೆನ್ನಿಸ್ ಬಾಲ್ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಪಂದ್ಯಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ  ಎಸ್ ಎಂ ಎಸ್  ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಅಮೋಘ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು, ಇಡೀ ಪಂದ್ಯಕೂಟದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ತಂಡವೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.

On the 18th of December 2023, SMS College Brahmavar orchestrated a distinctive examination experience for 20 Bachelor of Arts (BA) students. This unique exam format allowed these students to complete their assessments without traditional supervision. The subjects covered during this unsupervised exam included Introduction to Literature, Subaltern Studies, and British Literature. 

The introduction of this novel approach is credited to the Department of English, emphasizing a considerable level of trust in the students' integrity. The initiative showcases the institution's commitment to exploring innovative examination methodologies, setting a precedent for future assessments. This alternative testing method serves as an exemplary model for students, encouraging a flexible and adaptive mindset. The Department of English deserves commendation for introducing this forward-thinking examination model at SMS College Brahmavar.

ದಿನಾಂಕ:- 16/12/2023 ರ ಶನಿವಾರದಂದು ಸೈಂಟ್ ಮೇರಿಸ್ ಸಿರಿಯನ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ 2023-24ರ ಸಾಲಿನ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಡುಪಿ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಯಿಂದ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾದ  " ಗ್ರಂಥಮಿತ್ರ "  ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ವಾರಂಬಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ನ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಕಾರರಾಗಿ ವಾರಂಬಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ನಿತ್ಯಾನಂದ ಬಿ.ಆರ್ ಅವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಯೋಜಿತೆಯಾದ ರೀಣಾ ಎಸ್.ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಅವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಯೋಜಿತೆಯಾದ ಶಿಲ್ಪ ,ಸರಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿಯಾದ ಸುಶೀಲ ಎಸ್. , ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ನ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಉಮಾಬಾಯಿ,ಸೈಂಟ್ ಮೇರಿಸ್ ಸೀರಿಯನ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಎನ್.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್. ಘಟಕಗಳ ಯೋಜನಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಮಮತಾ ಮೇರಿ ಅಮ್ಮನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. *ವಾರಂಬಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ನಿತ್ಯಾನಂದ ಬಿ.ಆರ್. ಅವರು ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು* . ಮಮತಾ ಮೇರಿ ಅಮ್ಮನ್ನ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಕಾರರಾದ  ನಿತ್ಯಾನಂದ ಬಿ.ಆರ್. ಅವರು ಗ್ರಂಥಮಿತ್ರ *"ಆಟದಿಂದ ಪಾಠ"* ಎಂಬ ಮಾತಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಓದಿ *'ದೇಶ ಸುತ್ತಿ ನೋಡು ಕೋಶ ಓದಿ ನೋಡು'* ಎಂಬ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು.ಸರಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿಯಾದ ಸುಶೀಲಾ ಎಸ್. ಇವರು ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ನ ಬಳಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ,ಗ್ರಂಥ ಮಿತ್ರ ಎಂಬ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾದ ರೀಣಾ ಎಸ್. ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಅವರು ಆಧುನಿಕ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ  ಮಹತ್ವ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಓದುವ ಹವ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

The students' dedication to presenting their recipes and items to the judges was evident in their meticulous preparation and passionate display. ಮನು ಹಂದಾಡಿ ಯವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಭರಿತ ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶೈಲಿಯ ವಾಕ್ಚಾತುರ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ನೆರೆದಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ನಗೆ ಕಡಲಲ್ಲಿ ತೇಲಿಸಿದರು.ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಬೇಕು: ಆದರೆ ಜೀವನ ಹಾಸ್ಯಾಸ್ಪದ ವಾಗಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

 ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ಉಡುಪ ಕೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಮುದ,ಸಾಂತ್ವನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಧಾನಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮನು ಹಂದಾಡಿ ಯವರು ಪ್ರಶಂಸಾರ್ಹರು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಒಂದು ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿ ಯಲಿ ಎಂದು ಆಶಿಸಿದರು.

 ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್ ತೃತೀಯ ಬಿಕಾಂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು, ಶ್ರೀನಿಧಿ ತೃತೀಯ ಬಿಕಾಂ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಫಾತಿಮಾ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಬಿ ಎ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು.ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಬಿಎ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು .

  ಪ್ರತೀಕ್ ತೃತೀಯ ಬಿ ಸಿ ಎ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಚನ ತೃತೀಯ ಬಿಕಾಂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

 Students had the privilege to explore these historical sites like Nagara Fort, Ikkeri, Keladi, gaining insights into their cultural and historical significance. These locations offered a deeper understanding of the regional heritage, complementing the academic curriculum.

The visit to the cultural landmark Ramachandrapura Mata provided students with exposure to diverse cultural elements, enabling them to appreciate the richness of cultural heritage.

 Alongside these prominent sites, students were exposed to various educational and cultural landmarks, enhancing their learning experience.

The primary aim of the tour was to offer students practical exposure, supplementing their academic curriculum. Exploring these historical and cultural sites firsthand provided a deeper understanding of the subjects studied in their coursework.

The S.M.S College wrestling team secured 3 silver 🥈 medals and claimed the OVER ALL THIRD PLACE in the Mangaluru University intercollegiate wrestling championship hosted at Sri Gokarnanatheshwara College, Mangalore.

 Rajath from I BA secured a silver 🥈 medal in the 125 kg freestyle category, Rakshath from III B.Com secured another silver 🥈 in the 97 kg freestyle category, and Jagannath from II BA also secured a silver 🥈 in the 87 kg freestyle category.

'Spandana' - the 43rd issue of College Magazine was released by Mr Ravindra Upadhyaya, the Principal of Government PU College, Brahmavar with a simple programme held at SMS Mini Auditorium on Friday, 17th November, 2023. The Chief Guest later in his speech focussed on the students' competitive world and how to cope with it. He advised the youth to make the best use of college magazine as a forum for unveiling their hidden literary talents. The Principal, Dr Manjunath Udupa K who presided over the programme said that the college magazine is the 'showcase' of the college reflecting all the curricular and co-curricular achievements.

The programme was started with an invocation led by 1st year students, Ms Sangeetha welcomed the gathering, the Chief Guest was introduced by Ms Suhana, Ms Ashwini proposed the vote of thanks, and Ms Aishwaryalaxmi beautifully compered the programme. Associate Editors Mr Jude Alfred Furtado, Mr Keerthi Shettigar, Mr Prakash Nayak, Mr Vadiraj, Mr Prashanth Shetty, Mr Prasanna Shetty and Mrs Violetine Lewis were on dais. The programme was attended by teaching and non-teaching staff, and students of Youth Red Cross, NSS and Literary Club.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by HRD Convenor Tweeny Maria Rodrigues, followed by enlightening remarks by Principal Dr. Manjunatha Udupa K. Mr. Ganesh, an esteemed alumnus, shared his experiences and emphasized the importance of supplementing education with additional courses.
